The Process of Healing & Growth
Our bodies are naturally trying to heal. Persistent mood symptoms are often linked to Healing and Growth processes to which our bodies largely default without our intent. Our experiences and backgrounds may serve to frustrate or otherwise impact these processes. Therapy can help clients identify their particular operating styles regarding healing from trauma or losses, and identify how to deliberately support improved mood management and make room for healthy grieving, adaptation, and Hope.Embrace the opportunity to unlock your true potential. Together, we can navigate the complexities of life, fostering resilience and healing along the way.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy is an opportunity to explore the way one is built, especially with regard to predispositions and reactivity. Increasing our understanding and awareness of these sort of dynamics, empowers clients to manage their experiences of stressors and reaction more deliberately. This increased deliberateness and mindful management of thoughts and behavior will often help alleviate troublesome symptoms of distress or interpersonal conflict.
Family/Systemic Therapy
Whether it be couple conflict, difficulties with parenting implementation and coordination, or family trauma, grief, or disconnection, Will’s strong background in Family Systems Therapy permits him to provide patient and insightful support. Discovering themes which have inhibited or affected the health of one or more family members allows loved ones, to gain insight into their influence in situations, as well as their means of achieving more desired outcomes.
Grief Work
Natural grief is best conceptualized as a rollercoaster of emotion the body automatically boards following a loss. Losses include strong feelings of sadness, anger and anxiety. We mourn the loss of someone, something, an ideal or a dream, by depressing over the loss of joy, closeness and future potential. We anxiously muse, or bargain, about how this loss will effect our living, and the unfairness and incredulity of our experience. We anger about the imposition and injustice of the loss. Healthy grieving involves recurrent experiencing of these and other emotions in a non-linear, overt and covert manner. The body and mind will automatically take on this work with losses of subjective significance. Therapy can help navigate this chaotic, painful and often frustrating journey.
Canine Assisted Therapy
Therapy animals, like Jake, provide a calm and consistent presence, with endless affection and acceptance for clients. Jake provides a stable and loving physical source of support to whomever he meets, with a reliably optimistic expectation in his every encounter.
Jake promotes healing through visits to schools, workplaces and healthcare facilities. He is also qualified to support individual, family and group therapy.
Therapy sessions are available with or without canine support, for no additional charge.
Therapy On the Golf Course
My work with clients includes helping them understand processes of anxiety and other life stressors through mind and body awareness and practices; explored uniquely through nine holes of golf. Our thoughts connect with our behaviors deliberately in the practice of striking a golf ball. This interaction with a motionless target illustrates our mind’s capacity to compliment or interfere with the actions, healing, and the balance our bodies are seeking.
After initial meeting(s) to set goals for work, sessions can be booked through Will at participating golf courses.
